My art name is Rojax (AKA Derek Harris) and I consider my headshot painting a self portrait. I’m a fifth generation Californian, raised in Laguna Beach, California, Africa and other places around the world. In some of the places where I grew up, there was usually something under the bed! Being world schooled I’ve found the best way for me to communicate is with art, especially if you live where you don’t speak the language. I consider myself a raconteur (storyteller) who paints my stories on canvas! Some of these images may be a little far out but they show the range of my stories. A healthy garden has bugs, fish eat other fish, cats have claws and roses have thorns. I just can’t help the occasional social comment and flying...
